I started off 2016 by  teaching myself photography and posting often on the blog. I also got to graduate Uni as well as accomplish some goals I had set up which makes me so proud. This year I’m gonna hit it hard, the blog is getting an overhaul  I PROMISE, That’s  my absolute New Year’s resolution that I will not and cannot break. I completely thrive on staying busy and this year is gonna be jam packed with Fashion, Travel, Lifestyle and the new Beauty part that I am really excited about. Well here is my way of rolling into the new year with this Awesome back pack from from African Lily Kenya.

Y’all know I love a generous sprinkle of bohemian-ness in my outfits. Its whats currently trending in Nairobi with the younger crowd that’s finished off with a hint of hippie vibes and that’s why this is the perfect bag for it. What  love most about it is that its 100% leather with the cow horn embellishments that not only makes it very unique but also keeps it very Kenyan. It is very sturdy as it is hand stitched and very spacious as  could throw in a lot of items inside it and don’t worry, it with comes in many different colors, i personally just love the Orange.

The ‘bohemian’  always referred to commonly as the ‘boho’ look- can easily be described as a style that focuses mainly on wild and intricate patterns and exotic textures like fringing, loose silhouettes, anything that goes with that flower crown snapchat filter.

My imagined ‘Bohemian Romance’ places this outfit in a world of Instagram, Coachella, and constant Jenner Hadid outfit updates. I tried to mash up all three elements with my jewellery and i think i nailed it. Though I always add my spin to it, it only shows how fashion can be interpreted in so many ways.

Outfit Details

Crop Top and Skirt: H&M

Choker: Nairobi Stalls

Watch: Micheal Kors

Bangles: Gifted

Bag: African lily

Boots: Atmosphere

I’m pairing the bag with gold studded boots with a black slit maxi skirt and a floral crop top. I have had this skirt for a while now but I couldn’t find the right pairing for it until I saw these top and boots. I love how i dont have to thin about how my tummy looks as the flares if the crop top hide everything. I normally wear this kind of skirt with flats with an outfit like this, but these boots are so cute they’re totally worth it

The current trend for bohemian styling is inherently romantic in that it’s evoking a sense of nostalgia, reimagining 70s fashion through tinted glasses with a contemporary twist. They probably didn’t actually dress like this but in my imagination this outfit would fit in perfectly with the hippies and bohemians of yesteryear.

I bought this lovely long skirt a few years back and its still so stylish. It is divided at the front to give the skirt an optional draped look. The floral design and material makes the piece super feminine and dainty.

The skirt is pieced together with this crop top, so it’s extremely comfortable and whirly when I walk. The aesthetic movement as I wander about, combined with comfort and effortlessness are a few reasons why I love wearing maxi skirts like this so much.

Bohemianism is the practice of an unconventional lifestyle, often in the company of like-minded people, with few permanent ties, involving musical, artistic, or literary pursuits. It’s why the bohemian look is so popular at festivals, and why this is my go to look to celebrate my favourite era.

As this new year starts, I hope you make mistakes, Yes I said it, because making mistakes means making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. Try doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, Do not forget to write it down or take pictures.

Stay Stylish,

Kadenyi.
