In November of 2016, I was on the hunt for anything and everything denim (as per usual). Yes, I do go a little crazy for the jackets.

Lucky for me I happened to Thrift so many to the point I feel like I have forgotten to wear any other cover up.

When it comes to trialling new trends, it can all get a little bit daunting. But rather than cowering behind your ‘safe’ wardrobe staples – the neutral tees, skinny jeans and tailored blazers – take style inspiration from the me as I will be rocking so many pieces from here onward.

So if you haven’t noticed yet, Vintage is the way to go in Nairobi, by this I mean the 70’s all the way to the 90’s. Now, how does one style the trend on everyone’s lips?

Whether they’re rocking flares, denim mini-skirts or shearling jackets, this fashionable look will show you a thing or two about how to adopt the Seventies look into your life

When it comes to clothes, I feel like I pretty much know my taste. I know what I like and what I don’t like, and I tend to have a pretty intentional wardrobe with clothes that are classic, versatile, and a little bit interesting.

This is a formula that works for me, and i’m pretty sure you will be happy with it.

That being said I have a lot of staples aka clothes I wear over and over. A lesson I’ve learnt as I’ve gotten older – buying pieces that are better quality is a great investment – and it need not break the bank!

The best thing about vintage/second-hand clothing – the fabrics and construction have already proven to stand the test of wear and time.

When it comes to denim, This vintage jacket grabbed my attention like no other.

Not only does it have an acid wash, it is the  perfect vintage one that I will be wearing for years to come. I’m just a sucker for the cut and style.

I paired it with Leg-lengthening high-waisted flares  (Which are back! ) to style them for a modern look with a nod to the ’70s.

The tailored overalls have a slightly flared leg and are ideal with heels. Style yours this winter with a turtleneck or lightweight sweater.

For me I styled them differently…

Yes I was going for the 70’s look with a touch of Kadenyi. As you know, Flared denim has risen—both literally and figuratively.

This is a trend I couldn’t wait to style. Say goodbye to the overalls you wore years ago because this time around they are chic. I’m talking overalls meet high fashion.

There is nothing that finishes a vintage look better than sunglasses. For me, I paired this look with this super cool and edgy Vintage sunglasses,

To make it fun and modern, I added a splash of color with look with this cute crop top

For accessories, I kept it absolutely minimal and adding to the blue shades with this watch.

To finish it off, I kept it Trendy with my new love the Adidas Neo. I am currently a sneaker head guys 🙂
