Thrift social is a event started by two siblings Velma Rosa and Papa Petit who provide a space with good music, food, and Vibes that would most likely entertain any young blood.

I have had the chance to only go to two of the events and have loved each one of them. The kind of people who attend this event are thrifters, musicians, bloggers, and all round fashion lovers. They come meet up, listen to good music, eat excellent food ,have some fun and most importantly shop from Nairobi’s most cutting edge fashion vendors on site. The tickets are always affordable and easily available as they advertise on their pages and have the option of Lipa Na M-pesa.

This time round I was late so I didn’t have the chance to take many pictures of the event so I will just hit you with my outfit for the day. The theme was 90’s Vintage and I was really excited to find something cool but still edgy along the lines of that theme. Since it was Vintage, I wore my Dad’s old shirt that I got from his closet a while back which believe it or not was bought in the 90’s. I paired it with my vintage Denim jacket and jeans because nothing says ninety’s like Denim and finished the look with my favorite black boots.

For Accessories I wore my gold chocker which maintained the simplicity of the theme and  made the plungingneckline not look like it’s too much. I also wore my purple sling which complimented the shirt and Omega watch because I rarely leave the house without a watch and it’s one of my current favorites. I tied my hair in a high side bun as again, it was totally a 90’s hair style.

I really wanted to post this in the lifestyle section of the blog but since it was dark, I didn’t get the chance to shoot the area show you guys how the event looks like but next time I shall. I did however get some pictures of some really cool outfits of some individuals who Absolutely nailed the theme and posted it on my new instagram page ‘Nairobi Streetstyle‘. I am planning to make a blog out of it soon so feel free to follow it as I post interesting outfits of Nairobians I see, and also teach myself more on photography as a whole. One may use it to get some inspiration out of it in your own wardrobe.

Well here is my ootd (outfit for the day).Hope you guys like it as much as I did.

Lots of Love
